In honor of Women's History Month, Anoka-Ramsey Community College is presenting a concert with music written and inspired by women, Thursday, March 6, 7:30 p.m., at the Coon Rapids Campus Performing Arts Center.

This free, public concert presents all four of the Coon Rapids Campus' music ensembles -concert choir, concert band, jazz ensemble, and chamber singers-performing music composed by Emma Lou Diemer, Undine Smith Moore, Carol Barnett and others, as well as music inspired by women such as Rosa Parks, women serving or supporting the military, and more.

"The concert finale involving all ensembles is a piece dedicated to the life and work of Rosa Parks," says music faculty member Melissa Bergstrom. "'Today is the Gift' uses the text of an African proverb: 'Tomorrow is a mystery. Yesterday is history. Today is the gift.'"
