Stafford Loan Application

Students attending ARCC will apply for their Federal Stafford Loan(s) online.

General Loan Information

You must have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have received your financial aid award letter. Your award letter indicates your eligibility for federal loans and previous lender if applicable. You may access your award letter at Online Financial Aid Status and Awards.

A federal loan is a loan, not a grant. Before you borrow, make sure you can afford the monthly payment. You must repay the funds you borrow, any fees associated with the loan, and any interest that accures on the loan. All fees are deducted from your loan prior to disbursement, however, you remain responsible for repaying the entire loan amount.

Loan Eligibility

You must be registered for at least 6 credits at the time your loan is certified and disbursed by ARCC. You must remain enrolled at least half-time during each term of the loan period or future loan disbursements will be cancelled.

You must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Your loan may require proration (a reduction in what you are eligible to borrow) if your final period of enrollment at ARCC is just one semester.

You must complete EXIT Counseling prior to leaving ARCC.

APPLY: Online Stafford Loan Application (Be Prepared with amount you wish to borrow and previous lender name. New borrowers will select their lender of choice when they complete the online Stafford Loan application)

ARCC will be notified electronically that you have completed your loan application.

Remember to sign your Online Master Promissory Note (MPN) with your FAFSA PIN or you print and sign and mail your MPN to Great Lakes Higher Education.

Check Loan Application Status : Fill in SS# and Password and click "Go" button.
